Diane deGroat has illustrated over 150 books since 1972. Since 1995, she has been writing and illustrating her own stories. Her picture books about Gilbert the opossum include Roses are Pink, Your Feet Really Stink and Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet, along with eleven other books in the award-winning series. A spin-off series of I Can Read books debuted in 2009, offering beginner readers their own Gilbert stories. Her most recent illustrated books are for blogger and Food Network star Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman. Her basset hound Charlie the Ranch Dog is featured in five books, the latest being Charlie Plays Ball.
